The Digital Business Network Alliance (DBNAlliance) has introduced an e-invoicing network, enabling businesses across the US to seamlessly exchange business documents electronically via a secure virtual platform.
DBNAlliance's electronic network operates on a four-corner model, facilitating the transmission and reception of e-documents through designated access points or service providers that link companies to the network. DBNAlliance is committed to supporting access points in integrating with the exchange framework and holds the responsibility for establishing electronic delivery standards, policies, regulations, and guidelines.
Within the exchange framework, four distinct participant types form the core of the four-corner network: the supplier, two access points (also referred to as service providers), and the buyer.
DocStudio has played its role in shaping the U.S. e-Invoice Market, actively participating in the e-Invoice Exchange Market Pilot facilitated by the Business Payment Coalition since 2022.
As a testament to our commitment to innovation and efficiency in digital business solutions, we have joined the Digital Business Network Alliance (DBNA) as a trusted member and access point.
Our dedication to facilitating seamless electronic document exchange underscores our mission to revolutionize business operations and enhance connectivity within the industry.
On April 4, 2024, DocStudio initiated the first data exchanges from DocStudio to Storecove via the cutting-edge US digital infrastructure - DBNAlliance (Digital Business Networks Alliance LLC). Exchange process was facilitated using the AS/4 technology protocol, employing SML and SMP technologies for seamless message routing within the so-called 4-corner model network.
In essence, this development means that all e-invoice providers have now joined a value-added network (VAN), enabling seamless interconnection between them. Any business can now utilize a single connection to transmit e-invoices and other business documents to any counterparty, requiring only the partner's ID (such as EIN, DUNS, GLN number, or others).
For each document sent, there are designated document senders (referred to as "Corner 1" or C1), the sender’s provider (C2), the receiver’s provider (C3), and the receiver itself (C4). While senders and receivers can communicate in any preferred manner and format, a common standard (UBL 2.3), communication protocol (AS/4), and several other policies and technologies are mandated on the digital backbone.
This marks our significant implementation of AS/4 and related technical specifications and policies, which are seamlessly integrated into our platform - DocStudio. Simultaneously, customers can still utilize any preferred format and transport protocol on the "last mile" from both the sender and receiver sides.
This approach offers a straightforward and accessible means for companies of all sizes to implement e-invoicing or any other document types with all partners without the need for them to adopt any specific provider or portal. It's an inspiring and promising initiative!
Currently, we are seeking testing with other providers, exploring alternative avenues such as e-remittance exchange in the format proposed by the BPC (Business Payments Coalition) initiative.
As an active participant of the Technical Committee of DBNA, and an active member of DBNA, DocStudio.com warmly welcomes e-invoice/EDI providers and potential customers to experience this revolutionary technology firsthand!
